The meeting provided a platform for open dialogue on key issues affecting women in business, including access to finance, markets, mentorship, and the challenge of balancing multiple responsibilities. Discussions also focused on financial discipline, resilience, leadership, and strategic growth.

Speaking during the event, Managing Director Veronica Namagembe emphasized the importance of creating platforms that go beyond financial services to support women entrepreneurs.

“Across Uganda today, women continue to demonstrate remarkable resilience and determination. They are starting businesses, creating employment opportunities, and contributing significantly to the development of their communities,” she said. “These contributions often go beyond economic value, as many women reinvest in their families and communities, creating lasting social impact.”

She, however, acknowledged that challenges persist.

“Access to finance, markets, mentorship, and the need to balance multiple responsibilities remain realities that many women entrepreneurs navigate every day. It is therefore important that institutions such as Pride Bank continue to play an active role in supporting them,” Namagembe noted.

The Managing Director stressed that empowerment must extend beyond financial support.

“While access to financial services remains critical, empowerment goes beyond that. Entrepreneurs also need knowledge, mentorship, and networks to guide them through different stages of business growth,” she said.

“At Pride Bank, we believe empowering women in business goes beyond providing access to finance. It is also about creating platforms where women can share experiences, build networks, and gain the knowledge needed to grow resilient businesses.”

The Women’s Breakfast Meeting forms part of the bank’s broader strategy to promote financial inclusion and strengthen women-led enterprises through both financial and non-financial support systems.

Participants also heard from experienced business leaders and professionals who shared practical insights on navigating business challenges and scaling enterprises. The session created opportunities for networking, allowing attendees to exchange ideas, build partnerships, and strengthen professional connections.

“Entrepreneurship requires vision, hard work, sacrifice, and resilience. Platforms like this are important in helping women learn from each other and build the confidence to grow sustainable businesses,” Namagembe said.

The bank reiterated its long-term commitment to supporting women entrepreneurs across Uganda by providing tailored financial solutions and creating platforms that enhance capacity building and collaboration.

“Our goal is not only to provide financial services but also to walk this journey with women entrepreneurs and strengthen their capacity as business leaders within their communities,” she added.
